Sabot enews - States round-up and results to date

Sabot sailors,

Now you know why the VSSA schedules the Sabot States over two weekends! Saturday was about as horrible as you could get with 40kt squalls being registered at the Black Rock YC tower. Sensibly, racing was abandoned for the day and Sunday scheduled an hour earlier to allow us to catch up part of the program.

Sunday could not have been more different – crisp with shifty light breezes in the morning and a progressively freshening SE breeze in the afternoon. Some great surfing to watch later in the day as the bigger kids started to fire. We eventually got five races in over the day with results to date, and before drops, to be found at http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/bryc_hmb/results/sabot.htm

Novice results are still being collated, and these will be available on Saturday posted on the Notice Board prior to racing.

Given that the race program is still one race behind where we hoped to be at this stage, and we are still hoping to get between 10 and 12 races in total, next weekend will be fairly busy again. However, we will not start a race on Sunday after 3.00pm in an effort to get the AGM, new committee introduction and trophy presentation over with early enough to still enjoy the BBQ and party we have organised ……. for those who have bought tickets!

Don’t forget that for those that have not pre-ordered lunches for Saturday and Sunday - bring your own as the club will have limited supplies of its own.

For those of you that are holding VSSA Perpetual Trophies from last year, please ensure they are returned to Paul Jenkins by no later than Saturday pm.

That’s your lot for now - see you Saturday

Yours in sailing

The Pres’ …….but only for one more week!
