| Great Start to Bronze Coaching
Last Saturday at RBYC was a great start for the Bronze group coaching. For once the weather was on our side and Cam Parsons aided by Andy O’Connell were able to run a terrific session for the Bronzies inside the breakwater in the morning, followed by some race experience in the afternoon.
It was also a good day for the Gold and Silver sailors to sharpen their light weather skills – a replay of conditions at the Nationals this year at SYC. Our thanks to RBYC, Ross Fisher, and Paul Jenkins for organising the session, and particular thanks to Paul Pascoe for running the afternoon races.
The most exciting part of the day was after the completion of sailing, when Doug Linacre was attempting to retrieve the VSSA duck from the beach with his 4 wheel drive. The retrieval eventually had a cast of hundreds. The star was the RBYC tractor. It nearly got bogged but finally managed to pull out the 4 wheel drive followed by the duck.
The next coaching session for all groups will be at RBYC on Saturday 16th June starting at 10am. Please note that the following coaching session will also be at RBYC on SUNDAY 24th June.
Wintersail Enrollment
Organisation for Wintersail this year has also been hampered by lack of water at Albert Park Lake. A final decision as to whether this event will be held at the Lake or at Sandringham will be made by Yachting Victoria on about the 20th June. Meanwhile, all the required application and medical forms are now available on the YV website (link below). These should be completed now and forwarded to YV together with payment to avoid a late entry fee of $30.
