Sabot enews - weekly update

Sabot sailors,

Gold Group coaching is back on tomorrow – be ready to go on water by 10.00am latest!

Final heat of the 2006 Black Rock Icicle is also on tomorrow at 1.30pm after coaching finishes. There will be a presentation afterwards.

Reminder to Silver and Bronze coaching groups – first training commences on Saturday June 3rd at Albert Park lake (tomorrow week). Coaching program payments WILL NOT be accepted on the day. If you are yet to pay the first instalment please ensure that you immediately send your cheque for the respective 1st instalment payable to the 'VSSA' to -

The VSSA Coaching Coordinator
Ian Gillies

17 Monica Street

Essendon VIC 3040.

Whilst this may seem tough, no-one will be permitted to participate unless the first instalment has been received, banked and cleared prior to their first coaching day. The VSSA is a volunteer association and is unable to subsidise those who either have not made the appropriate financial arrangements in a timely manner, or have not read their emails. Additionally, all necessary documentation is required to be lodged with the VSSA Coordinator correctly completed in full. Remember to bring the following for the program duration:

·        Sailing gear, towel, sunscreen, water bottle and a change of warm clothes,

·        The canteen at most clubs will be in operation when we are there - cut lunches are just as easy

·        The weather can and will get cold over winter - bring a beanie. The VSSA strongly recommends that all participants have appropriate wet weather gear inclusive of a well fitted wetsuit preferably long legged to ward off cold. The VSSA cannot be responsible for a participant being cold due to inappropriate clothing - participants may be excluded if the coaches feel there is a health risk to the participant due to inappropriate clothing.

Be rigged and ready for water no later than 10am SHARP. Those who are not ready will not benefit fully from the program. The coaches will not delay the program commencement due to one or two tardy participants.

Reminder that the first heat of the 2006 Winter Series is also on Saturday 3 June at the lake after coaching.

As usual, any queries give me a call on 0417-832000.

Yours in sailing,

The Pres’
