Sabot sailors,
Sabot coaching for all three groups continues at Albert Park this Saturday 12 August for the final session on the lake. As usual, coaching commences at 10am on-the-water but you will need to be there around 9am to meet this timetable. We would like to do a group briefing with parents as usual at around 9.45am. Coaches will be Gold Group – Glenn Collings plus one, Silver Group – Mark Jackson & Ian Gillies, Bronze Group – Daniel Farthing, Shane Voyer and Andrew Rae. Please let Mark Jackson know if you will not be there on Saturday.
Reminder time again for those who have not yet paid their second coaching fee installment – Ian Gillies will be at the lake on Saturday with large “persuader” in hand! Seriously, the VSSA has a monthly contractual commitment to pay the coaches – we can not tolerate group members who have not paid up.
The fifth heat of the 2006 Sabot Winter Series, the final heat on the lake, will take place at 2pm on Saturday as usual. Can someone please beat Tim? The results sheet is looking depressingly predictable…… I know winning isn’t everything, but I think you know where I am coming from….
The VSSA Winter Series then moves to Mordialloc Sailing Club from Sunday 20th August. Mordialloc is offering a discount to Sabots entered in the VSSA winter series and the series entry has been reduced to $15.00. This also entitles sailors to compete in all other Mordialloc winter series races – the VSSA series only covers some of MSC’s races. The entry form along with payment can either be made at the club prior to the race on the 20th August, or mailed to Mal Parsons, VSSA Secretary, 7 Clifton Street North Balwyn 3104.

Reminder to the VSSA committee members – next meeting is at MSC on Monday 13 August at the usual time. We are getting close to crunch time for Nationals decisions, so lots to be done.
