All Sabot sailors,
A very merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all those Sabot sailors with whom I will not be spending most of that time this year! To those with whom I am already planning to spend most of that time, the Accor Premiere Vacation Club 43rd Australian Sabot Championships and Kevin & Ross Wilson Sabot Week Regatta is almost upon us, and the excitement and nervousness levels are clearly rising.
We are looking forward to a fun regatta, with hopefully the continued improvement of the Victorian Team’s results – a distinct feature of the last few years since Mark Jackson has taken the “professional” helm of the VSSA coaching program.
All parents of kids sailing in this regatta have been given one or more tasks to perform over the week – please ensure you are where you are supposed to be in good time for your duty. You are also required to find a replacement or swap if you cannot make your designated slot, and you must inform Paul Jenkins of the new name – you can contact Paul on 0410-479034. A few key dates and times are listed below in advance of receiving the Regatta Program which will be in the competitors’ Welcome Packs at Registration:
27 December – Registration opens for all competitors at 9.00am. Victorian boat measurement commences at the same time.
28 December – official Opening Ceremony at 5.00pm – all sailors must be there and in correct uniform
29 December – Competitors’ Briefing in the Marquee at 10.00am – all sailors must be there
29 December – Support/Coach boat drivers’ meeting in Ken King Centre at 11.00am
29 December – Irwin Sails Invitation Race at 2.00pm
